Solar Lamp Post Light will keep you safe and secure

One of the primary reasons for lighting up our patios and
gardens is to make them safe. If we don’t illuminate these areas we can’t see where we are going at night and
potential intruders can hide in the shadows without being seen. The question is what kind of lighting should
you choose? The primary choice is between electricity and solar power, and if you choose the latter, one of
the most popular options is a solar lamp post light.
There are many reasons for choosing solar power for lighting, not least of which is the need for us all to try
and think green so that we can reduce our carbon footprint. In addition, solar garden lamps are a lot quicker and
easier to install than most electric lamps and they are considerably cheaper to run. In fact, once you’ve installed
your solar lighting, you don’t pay anything for power. They are also low maintenance, and provided you keep the
solar module clean, all you’ll need to do is replace batteries and bulbs from time to time. More on outdoor solar lights

Designed to work best with light emitting diode (LED) bulbs, a solar lamp post light can
give you as much light as any other light source. LED bulbs are also as environmentally friendly as the solar lamp
post light itself. An electrical component that releases energy in the form of light, light emitting diodes consume
less energy than other electrical components and they last longer. So even though an LED bulb will cost you a bit
more than the flimsy incandescent bulbs so many of us are used to, you’re going to save money in the long run.
Contemporary solar lamp posts have built-in solar-powered batteries that
charge during the day. If you buy one with a cone reflector you will find the light is exceptionally bright and
ideal for security in your outdoor areas. Although they may be turned on and off manually, most solar lights have sensors so they may be set to turn on and off automatically. Nothing could
be simpler: when the sun goes down and it starts to get dark, the light will come on. When the sun begins to
rise the next morning, the light will go off, even if it’s a cloudy day.

So where’s the best spot for solar lamp post light fixtures? Because the batteries are charged by the sun, aim
for a spot that will get maximum light during the day. Notice how the shadows change during the day, and from
season to season. If you want to light up a walkway of some kind, or even a driveway, then it’s usually best to
position solar post lights along the edge, using the solid surface as a base.
If you decide to position lamps in the garden itself, you will need to cast a level concrete base so that you can
bolt the lamp securely in place. A patio is a good place for solar lamp post light fixtures because the surface is
usually solid. Just make sure it’s level. Decks are also good, and short lamp posts
may be secured directly to wooden posts.
One thing is certain, if you’re looking for light fittings to keep you safe and secure in your home, a good
quality solar lamp post or two will do the job. More on solar post light fixtures
