If you want to light up a walkway of some kind, or even a driveway, then it’s usually best to position solar post lights along the edge, using the solid surface as a base. If you decide to position lamps in the garden itself, you will need to cast a level concrete base so that you can bolt the lamp securely in place. A patio is a good place for solar lamp post light fixtures because the surface is usually solid. Just make sure it’s level. Decks are also good, and short lamp posts may be secured directly to wooden posts.
